New Apple M3 CPU debuts on 2024 MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air just debuted with little fanfare as Apple didn’t even host a launch event to reveal the refreshed laptop. The brand new MacBook Air 13 and 15 will bring the new M3 processor to Apple’s popular laptop lineup first. Apple says the new chip will make the 2024 Air 60% faster than the 2020 M1 model. The 2022 M2 model supposedly boosted performance by 18% from the M1 chip, so there is a modest bump from generation to generation.

The 13-Inch model will start at $1,099, while the larger 15-inch model will retail for $1,299. From a physical hardware standpoint, the new macbooks are essentially the same exact body from the previous generation. The new laptops are available now to order on Apple's website.
