Google bumps the Pixel 9A to new heights

The cheapest entry into the Google Pixel lineup just got a refresh for 2025 and it looks quite attractive. With a slight redesign compared to recent Pixel models, the brand new Pixel 9A does away with the large rear camera bar. Instead, the cameras are housed in what resembles the pill shaped search bar that Google has been using on Android in recent years.
New Guts
At a starting price of $499, the new budget Pixel will arrive on shelves in April and will retain a lot of key qualities that elevates the phone above quite a few midranges.
To start off, the Pixel 9a keeps the same Tensor 4 processor found in current flagship Pixels. It caps out at 8 GB of ram, but gets a huge battery bump up to a 5,100 mAh cell.
Like other Pixels now, this phone will have IP68 certification, 7 years of updates starting with Android 15 that it ships with, and will likely be quite an attractive offering when its all said and done in 2025.
Pixel 9a:
Display: 6.3-inch pOLED, 2424 x 1080p
Processor: Tensor G4
Storage: 128GB or 256GB
Camera: 48MP main, 13MP ultrawide
Price: From $499
The phones will be available to purchase soon at Google or other retailers.
