Motorola’s 2024 Razr family gets Gemini AI

It took a few years, but it seems that Motorola has finally figured out what an external screen should be used for on their RAZR V3 flip phone.

Just freshly announced, the 2024 RAZR phones will continue to exist in two tiers: the RAZR and the RAZR+. Once again, the more powerful of the two phones will be the RAZR+, which will be powerd by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip.

And as the plus name would imply, this bigger model will also have a bigger external display. Now stretching out to 4”, Motorola has big plans for how a user will benefit from this display.

Google’s Gemini AI app will be accessible directly from this external display. Google Photos and a dedicated Spotify panel will also be important functions for this display to be utilized.

There’s also brand new colorways that will give the device a hipper identity as well as making the phone pop more than in previous years.

A new improved hinge design will supposedly make the phone flick open easier to access that 6.9” pOLED main display.

The smaller RAZR will have a 3.6” external display and will have a starting price of $699.99, $300 lower than the RAZR+’s $999.99 MSRP. At that price tag, Motorola has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor powering up the base model phone.

Both of these phones will open pre-orders starting on July 10, 2024.
