Apple iPhone 16 Pro Cases

What Cases Are We Using?

The Apple iPhone 16 Pro is officially out and if you’re anything like me, you need some sort of reliable protection on your device. Here are eight potential options to consider. All options below fit comfortably and snug on the iPhone 16 Pro and vary in price point for preference.

Disclaimer: RIngke and Benks sent us review units of their Apple iPhone 16 Pro cases free of charge to review, but all thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are our own and were not discussed with the company prior to publishing.

Benks ArmorAir Aurora

The Benks ArmorAir Aurora is competitively priced for an upper tier case. It’s incredibly lightweight and features DuPont Kevlar fiber which Benks claims is used in various industries requiring strong materials. It’s durable and has a unique texture to it that feels both smooth yet lightly textured at the same time somehow. It’s also fingerprint resistant making it easy to hide smudges. I like the subtle design color scheme here and the slight protrusion for the camera hump where the Benks logo is displayed. This case is MagSafe compatible and houses cutouts along the sides for easy access to the iPhone buttons. Despite being very light, it’s not very bendable and feels comfortable to hold in the hands with confidence.

Benks ArmorPro Aurora

Also from Benks is the ArmorPro Aurora. The design is similar here in its smooth but grippy back and subtle gradient tone. It’s also offered in a variety of other colors too. The biggest difference between the ArmoPro and the ArmorAir is that the ArmorPro features a full case, covering all buttons with the exception of the camera button on the lower right side. If you prefer less protrusion in your side buttons and want a slim design, the ArmorPro Aurora is a great option because of its low profile but protected sides. Similar to the ArmorAir Aurora, it’s got the same camera hole for the hump with just a slight protrusion and is also MagSafe compatible. I really like how both the ArmorPro and ArmorAir Aurora feel with the kevlar material. It’s unique to touch and despite a mostly simple design in case, it feels premium and long lasting.

Benks Dynamic Series Summit-Mt. Blanc

Finally, this one is probably one of my favorite designs in terms of look. This is from the Dynamic Series from Benks and is the Summit-Mt. Blanc collab illustration. I don’t think this is an actual collaboration to the Montblanc pen brand but rather an ode to the actual Mont Blanc mountain. This case looks really cool because of the black and white color scheme but also the map-like looking rear with coordinates and the black rimmed camera hump. The white MagSafe ring is a nice touch to add to the design in addition to the black side buttons for added coverage. The back looks translucent on a white background but you can see in the light that the map-like scheme emits a silver shine to it, making it a really unique looking case. When flipped over, the inside rear looks almost metallic. Even the sides have an added design to them, looking like there’s texture behind the translucent bumper casing. The side buttons are very clicky despite being fairly low profile. I only wish there were a little more texture to the side frame to give it a grippier feel because the case can be a little buttery to hold. The case also maintains a low profile design in the front as well with only a slight lip to protect the screen.

RIngke Onyx Magnetic

For a reasonable price, the Ringke Onyx Magnetic has an anti-fingerprint granulated texture back that feels premium to touch and secure in the hands. There’s built-in strap holes for accessories if you prefer to wear your iPhone and it’s also MagSafe compatible. I especially appreciate the indented texture along the sides making it grippier to hold and the larger lip around the corners for added drop protection. The material feels unique and is made from a flexible TPU for protection.

Retail Price: $21.99

Ringke Onyx Gray

Next we have the Ringke Onyx Gray. This one is slightly thinner than the Onyx Magnetic, but still feels very nice and grippy. It’s only slightly slimmer than the Magnetic but is otherwise the same case and has the same textured side and back making them easy to hold onto. I like the muted Gray color in this design and appreciate the camera hump cutouts that are exact, giving protection from both damage and dust to my iPhone.

For those who may want a different color than black but prefer a neutral, adult looking tone, the Onyx Gray is not a bad option. It maintains the same lightweight feel Ringke aims for with grip comfort. If you so chose, this design is also offered in a variety of other colors as well.

Retail Price: $15.99

RIngke Fusion-X

The Fusion-X has a camo design to it and features a bumper frame housed within a clear case and polycarbonate back. It has a variety of textures to make it easier to grip and recognize the side buttons. The frame is bendable by itself, but when worn on the iPhone, feels sturdy in the hands and gives ample protection. The camera hump looks and feels secure, but its protrusion is larger than what we have seen on the Onyx line. Compared to the Onyx family, the Fusion collection feels less bendable thanks to its stronger bumper frame.

I personally like the strength of the Fusion-X, but prefer the lower profile of the camera hump on the Onyx line. But for those who may desire additional drop protection, the Fusion-X offers exactly that.

Retail Price: $17.99

Ringke Fusion Bold

The Fusion Bold is another case within the Fusion classification. This one’s a very simple clear case with black sides. The camera protrusion is just one large hole as compared to the smaller indentures on the Fusion-X giving it a more simplified design. Just like the other Ringke cases we’re checking out here, the textured grip is convenient for users and there are built in straps for accessories. This case is indeed MagSafe compatible despite its clear back and would look great for those who chose colorful iPhones or want to showcase their color choice in a simple way.

Retail Price: $19.99

Ringke Fusion Magnetic

The last in RIngke’s Fusion family that we have here is the Fusion Magnetic. This one’s a clear iteration of its design with a simple white MagSafe ring on the rear. Ringke touts no discoloration when it comes to their cases and guarantees a clarity retention for 2.5 times longer. Just like the Fusion Bold, the Fusion Magnetic also has just one large camera hole for the hump. Unlike the other cases we just saw from Ringke, the Fusion Magnetic maintains a very simple design and has no additional texture or grip on the sides. I personally like my cases to have a little more texture to it because I’m clumsy, but if you’re looking for a very simple case, this is a great option.

Retail Price: $19.99

Ringke Easy Slide Privacy Tempered Glass

Another bonus we have here is the Ringke Easy Slide glass cover. There’s an installation tray making it really hard to mess up putting this screen protector on. Ringke even provides two glass covers, convenient for if one breaks or if you just want to update it. The 9H hardness keeps your display protected from keys or other scratches. The oleophobic coating also makes it resistant to smudges and fingerprints while keeping colors true to tone. I’m frequently annoyed with the patience and effort it takes to put on screen protectors so it’s nice to see Ringke designing an easier way to apply these.
