It’s a new year and that means it is time for a refresh of products from Xiaomi’s budget brand, Redmi. The Chinese giant announced the new lineup of Redmi Note 13 phones for the 2024 calendar year that includes the standard Note 13, the Note 13 5G, the Note 13 Pro, the Note 13 Pro 5G, and the Note 13 Pro+ 5G. Always the provider of quality value, Redmi has a product for just about every customer in varying price ranges.

Base Models

The two base models will be the floor for performance in this year’s Note 13 family. The Note 13 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor with a minimum of 6 GB of ram and a maximum of 8 GB. The two storage options are 128 GB and 256 GB.

The Note 13 5G model uses a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chip to add 5G capabilities. Like the base model, the storage and ram have the same minimum and maximum numbers, but will have one less configuration as the Note 13 5G will not have an 8GB ram and 128 GB storage model. Both of these phones house 5,000 mAh batteries with 33W fast charging as well as expandable storage up to 1 TB.

As for display quality, both phones will sport a 6.67” AMOLED display that refreshes at up to a 120Hz rate. The 13 5G will use Corning Gorilla Glass 5, while the Note 13 will use an older Gorilla Glass 3. Both displays have a resolution of 2400 x 1080 p.

The camera setup will be nearly identical with both models featuring a 108 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide, a 2 MP macro, and a 16 MP front camera.

Interestingly enough, the Note 13 outweighs the Note 13 5G by about 10 grams and is slightly larger than the 5G phone. They’re both IP 54 certified.

The cheapest Redmi Note 13 phone starts at a mere $179. To get the 5G model, the starting price will be $229.

Pro Models

The Pro models vary a bit more in processing power as the Redmi Note 13 Pro uses a MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra chip. This CPU pushes up to 2.2 GHz. The Note 13 Pro 5G opts for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 that hits 2.4 Ghz. The highest end model goes back to a MediaTek processor as it will utilize the Dimensity 7200-Ultra chip and it can hit up to 2.8 Ghz.

All three of the Pro branded phones will have the same exact ram and storage configurations with either an 8 GB ram/256 GB storage variant, or a 12 GB ram/512 GB storage model. Curiously enough, the base 13 Pro will have expandable storage while the two 5G models don’t.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro and Pro 5G have nearly identical batteries as the 13 Pro 5G outclasses the base Pro model by a mere 100 mAh, with the number at 5,100 mAh. They both charge at 67W for turbo charging. The flagship 13 Pro+ 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery like the 13 Pro, but can HyperCharge at 120W.

The two 5G models of the Pro moniker will sport identical display specs with a 2712 x 1220p resolution for the 6.7” CrystalRes AMOLED display. They both will use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and refresh at 120Hz. This display also gets 300 nits brighter than the regular Note 13 Pro as it hits 1800 nits peak brightness.

The Note 13 Pro is no slouch itself as it still has the 6.67” AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate, but the resolution dips to 2400 x 1080p. It’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

All three of these Pro models will have the same camera layout as they feature a 200 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide, a 2 MP macro, and a 16 MP front sensor.

The 13 Pro+ 5G is the only Redmi Note 13 phone that will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it is the only one in the Note 13 lineup to have an IP68 rating instead of an IP54.

The Note 13 Pro will start at $250 USD, while the Pro 5G will be offered at the starting price of $304.

The Note 13 Pro+ 5G starts at a respectable $400.
