Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Cases

5 Options To Consider

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold isn’t an easy phone to protect. Case makers thread the line between over buffing the expensive phone from a potential drop and making it functional for users. Here are 5 cases that I think are the best Fold6 cases right now. None of the cases on the list are OEM cases from Samsung. In some cases they’re actually more expensive than a case from Samsung, so third-party doesn’t always mean it's cheaper.

Torras Magnetic Case

When it comes to Fold cases, Torras is the gold standard. I feel fairly confident in making that statement after using Torras cases for the last few generations of Z Fold phones. And the reason for this is due to just how even Torras handles the distribution of protection and thickness. A lot of Fold cases make the Fold even thicker than the two slabs already are.

It’s not the slimmest case for the Fold6 out there, but in my opinion this is the best overall case for this expensive device. As a frosted translucent hard case, I love the look of the Torras case when slapped onto the phone. It’s clean and professional looking. There’s a magsafe ring that allows magnetic accessories to slap onto the back of the Z Fold.

This case also doesn’t require adhesives for the cover display, so it’s easily interchangeable or removable for cleaning. There’s not a lot of protection for the hinge, but that’s part of the compromise to keep the case relatively thin. The bumpers around the frame as well as the rear cameras also give me confidence that the phone will handle a mild drop to the floor.

It’s a little expensive, but if I had to recommend only one case to a Z Fold user, it would be this one.

Miimall Slim S Pen Case

The S Pen is extremely limited in functionality on Folds due to the cover display lacking writing compatibility. Still, if you’re looking for an affordable way to house an S Pen, the Miimall Slim S Pen Case looks exactly like the OEM one from Samsung. I have the official one for the Z Fold5, and decided to try this one out for the Z Fold6 and I honestly couldn’t tell the difference in touch and feel. Even the color scheme of this blue version is nearly the same shade as Samsungs.

The only major difference on the back cover is the included pen latched into the pen slot. This isn’t an S Pen, so it doesn’t interact with the Z Fold in the same manner. It’s not even something that connects nor pairs with the phone. This is simply an old school stylus with a rubber tip on the end. Ironically this old style pen actually does work with the cover display as it just simulates a finger’s input. Still, I just set it aside and inserted the official S Pen from my Z Fold5 Pen Case into this pen slot. It fits perfectly into it, although the button latch to free and lock the pen needs to be pressed in at a certain angle. It isn’t as easy to pull and lodge the pen into this slot as it is in the original case, but it's close enough.

Unfortunately, like the official case, magnetic accessories won’t be able to be mounted on this back shell. However, if you’re someone who already owns an S Pen and doesn’t want to buy another Samsung case for the Z Fold6, this is a valid option.

Makavo Case

The first case I paired with the Fold6 was the Makavo bumper case. It was surprisingly also a very competent soft bumper case that doubled up as a built-in tempered glass screen protector for the cover display. I personally am not a huge fan of display covers, but this does a good job of protecting the Z Fold all together. The cover display screen protector gets pretty nasty with dust and fingerprint build up, so it's one of those constant cleaning situations with this. I personally would have preferred not to have a closed off front like this and if I wanted to I would install my own tempered glass directly onto the screen of the Z Fold6.

Still, the back side is clean looking with a mirror style look to it. It’s also magsafe compatible and relatively thin for the most part. I liked how the plastic frame felt in my hands while it was folded and unfolded.

Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro Case

A list can’t be complete without at least one Spigen case on it right? The Ultra Hybrid Pro case certainly has a certain vibe to it. This Zero One variant mimics what the inside of a smartphone would look like. It’s not meant to actually replicate the build of the Z Fold6 as it doesn’t look realistic at all. However, what this case does have going for it is deep protection. While the Ultra Hybrid Pro does add some bulk to the Z Fold6 phone, I think it actually offers plenty of protection without forcing it into another class of thickness. It’s not at the levels of a full on bumper case yet. That means the Z Fold6 still resembles a somewhat graspable device with this case on.

This case also fully covers the hinge to protect it from scratches. On the downside, the polycarbonate material of the case makes it extremely prone to smudges and oil from fingers. It’s also slippery to hold due to the materials. This case also uses adhesive all around, so if you aren’t a fan of adhesives, this might not be the one for you.

Latercase

The Latercase is the thinnest case you can possibly get for the Fold6. Think Peel case but for a foldable and that’s essentially what this is. With aramid fiber handling protection from scratches, the thin case isn’t going to offer the best coverage from drops, but it does neatly cover the camera sensors in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

While a little bit of adhesive is required for the cover display to latch on to the case, it isn’t as bad as some other cases out there. The slight lip does retain and trap a lot of hair and dust. It drives me crazy trying to blow it off the screen, only for it to stay stuck around the edges.

Still, I haven’t used a case where having it on made the phone feel like it was naked. At just 0.6mm thin, this is the closest I’m willing to letting a $2,000 phone run without protection.
